Hobbits Are Getting Smaller
How small were they?!?
Newly discovered fossils of the 'hobbits' of Flores, Homo floresiensis, suggest they were even smaller than previously thought, now estimated to be 2.4 inches shorter than the initial 3 ft 2 inches.
These small hominids, which went extinct around 60,000 years ago, were first discovered in a cave in Indonesia in 2003.
The recent analysis of teeth and a partial upper arm bone confirms these were the smallest bones ever reported from an adult individual.
