On December 23, 2024, a Surjet private air service flight crew, including flight attendant Cassandra Martin and two pilots, encountered an unidentified glowing object while flying over the Bahamas at approximately 45,000 feet. Air traffic control alerted the crew to a "foreign object," prompting Martin to observe and record the phenomenon. She described the object as initially white, then turning green with an electric-like aura, exhibiting erratic movements such as zigzags, and maintaining proximity to their aircraft for about 45 minutes. The object's high altitude and unpredictable trajectory ruled out common explanations like drones or weather balloons.
NASA Captures Disappearing 'Ghost Island' in Caspian Sea

In early 2023, NASA's Landsat 8 and 9 satellites observed the sudden emergence of a 400-meter-wide island off Azerbaijan's coast in the Caspian Sea, formed by the eruption of the Kumani Bank mud volcano. By the end of 2024, the island had almost entirely vanished due to erosion. Similar transient islands have been documented in the area since 1861, highlighting the dynamic nature of such geological formations.
NASCAR Legend Mark Martin's Near-Miss with Unidentified Object
In the early 1990s, NASCAR driver Mark Martin experienced a close encounter with an unidentified flying object while piloting his private jet over Jacksonville, Florida, en route to Daytona. During the nighttime flight, Martin noticed a solid white light approaching his aircraft. As the light drew nearer, he prepared to take evasive action, believing a collision was imminent. However, the object suddenly changed course and moved away. Air traffic control confirmed no other aircraft were in the vicinity at the time.
