The Poison Chefs
Would you like a diarrhoea pill as a starter?
Two chefs at a restaurant in Jiangsu, China, were sentenced to prison for lacing thousands of dishes with antidiarrheal drugs to counteract the effects of expired ingredients.
The chefs used gentamicin sulfate to prevent patrons from experiencing stomach issues due to the stale ingredients of fish, beef and chicken.
A police investigation revealed that at least 1,612 servings of food were affected by this practice.
They were sentenced to 2 years in prison and a $22,000 fine each.
